How to lay Shed / Green house Concrete Base
Plan & Measure
Mark out the area to ensure correct dimensions.
Clear the Site
Remove any vegetation or debris.
Excavate the Area
Dig to 200mm depth, allowing for sub-base and concrete.
Level & Compact the Ground
Use a plate compactor or roller to create a stable base.
Add a Sub-Base (ask us if you’re not sure)
Lay a layer of Type 1 aggregate and compact it well.
Install Formwork (Shuttering)
Use timber or metal forms to contain and shape concrete.
Ensure Proper Drainage
Include a slight slope if needed to prevent water pooling.
Lay a Damp-Proof Membrane
Helps prevent moisture from rising into the concrete.
Reinforce (Rebar)
Use Rebar or mesh for added strength and durability.
Double-Check Levels & Alignment
Use a spirit level or laser level for accuracy.
Prepare for Pouring
Ensure easy access for concrete delivery and have tools ready.
